There are many things that can be found in Denpasar, ranging from educational historical tours, top-notch destinations, to a variety of addictive regional cuisine.

Curious about the intricacies of Denpasar City? Find out the complete information below, let's go!

History

Tracing the history of Denpasar is very interesting. The reason is, in ancient times Denpasar was a park that became the favorite place of the King of Badung named Kyai Jambe Ksatrya. Now, the name Denpasar literally comes from two words, "den" which means north and "pasar" which means market. If combined, the meaning of Denpasar is north of the market, the name was created not without reason because the location of Denpasar is located to the north of the market where Kyai Jambe Ksatrya lived, namely Puri Jambe Ksatrya or which has now turned into Satria Market.

Destination

While in Denpasar, you can start your visit to a historical place that has an important meaning for the local community, namely the Bajra Sandhi Monument which is a monument to the struggle of the Balinese people to salute the heroes. This monument is located at Puputan Margarana Renon Field which is also usually used as a place to exercise by local residents. Well, then there is also Lumintang City Park with colorful fountains whose scenery is very beautiful especially when night falls.

For those who want to enjoy nature tourism, it's time to go to the beach! In Denpasar itself, there are several beaches that must be visited, including Sanur Beach, Sindhu Beach, Biaung Beach, and Segara Ayu Beach which are suitable for instagrammable photo spots, especially at sunset.

Culinary

Tired of the same menu of mixed rice or spicy rice? Relax, in Denpasar you can find other local culinary delights that are no less delicious. Some recommendations for typical Denpasar food include attack-style seaweed, which is a seaweed-based dish that is boiled and served with pindang fish sauce. Next is be pasih mesambel matah or a dish of processed sea fish served with raw chili sauce.

Still want another tongue-tickling dish? Pesona friends must try the savory klejat crackers made from sea shells or the chewiness of conch satay and the rich taste of tempting betutu chicken spices!
